NTT

Wow. It’s been a while since I last posted here. My summer is slowly coming to an end, but I have to say that I don’t regret it. Well, most of it anyway.

Some of my original goals focused on improving my creative skills, primarily in graphic design and music. As of today, I haven’t made much headway on those. I did manage to add in a few experiences that are related to those goals, though. The major one would be my experimentation with Blender. Blender isn’t an easy program to use, especially coming from 3DS Max, which is a lot easier to use, and possibly has better editing tools implemented.

My time this summer was consumed by two things: Driving classes, for July, and now Starcraft II. I have my drivers permit, but I still see no real reason why I would drive a car. Starcraft II has been a wild ride, and Blizzard has done a magnificent job on the title, and more importantly, the design tools included with the game.

I finally upgraded to iOS 4.0, especially with the release of the jailbreak and unlock for this version. I’ve been looking at the new iPhone, which looks really tempting to get- Primarily for the camera. I’m hoping that Apple releases a new version of the iPod Touch with the upgraded camera (unlikely), which I would definitely get. I’ve always compared the iPad to an oversized iPod Touch, mainly because both lack cameras, but the iPad does have the benefit of being equipped with 3G, which I would love to have on an iPod Touch.

I find that I mainly use my phone for taking pictures, and updating social networking. Although texting consumes most of my communications (due to an unlimited texting plan), the place where the iPhone really shines for me is having a camera included with the software that I use, making it far more convenient than lugging around my Mac and using the iSight. I still prefer a DSLR over the camera on a phone for publication quality photos, but for personal use, the iPhone is good enough. That’s why most of the features of the new iPhone don’t really excite me- I’m focused on the camera.

Hey. If you’ve made it here, then I’ve done a proper job of setting up the required links on the old site (or the “construction” page hosted there) that aided you in finding this particular corner of Awakened Reality. I plan (and procrastinate) on turning Awakened Reality into something other than a personal blog, so I’m moving the blog portion here. The theme is currently undecided, pending time for me to work on designing a new one that I find visually appealing.

About the temporary name, NTT. NTT is kinda of a in-joke to anyone who knows anything about Japan, as NTT is the Nippon Telephone & Telegraph Corporation, otherwise known as NTT Communications, which is a phone/internet provider in Asia. NTT also happens to be my initials in Eastern Name Order. Look forward to more from me!
